This is an excellent 4 star property and would suit most visitors to Galway, a car would certainly be useful for those wishing to explore the city but there is easy bus access into town for those not wishing to drive. There is a brand new leisure centre, fully equipped with cardiovascular equipment and free weights as well as a steam room, sauna and 20m pool. (08/09rt) The rooms are all of a high standard with light carpets and dark stained wood fittings. They are in immaculate condition, range in size from medium to large and have all the amenities you would expect from a modern top end 4 star hotel. The lobby is large and impressive with a dark marble floor and grand chandeliers dominating the entrance. There is limited seating but there is a small coffee bar off to the side of the reception desk where guests may relax. This is a newly built modern hotel and the exterior of glass fronting and sand coloured render reflects this. It is set over 5 floors and is clearly visible from the roadside. The restaurant is located on the ground floor close to the main entrance and serves a range of traditional Irish and modern cuisine. Many ingredients used in the restaurant are locally sourced and the menu changes regularly depending on the availability and season of the fresh local produce.
The Clayton hotel is located in Ballybrit, opposite the racecourse and approximately 10minutes driving time from the very centre of Galway. It is sited conveniently close to both the N9 dual carriageway for Dublin and Cork and within 10 minutes of Galway Airport.
