The dinning room, banquet/ breakfast room are in another building. The dining room is perched like a huge greenhouse on top of this walled town with fabulous views across the Minho to Spain. 08/08 mp Some of the rooms and suites have their own courtyards, all within the Palace walls, giving you the impression of being in a small private village. The bar disco and sitting-room are in a separate building, at one time used as the garrison prison. Architecturally there is much to be said for preserving the original buildings individually. The culinary reputation of the Pousada is very good and their fish dishes are especially tasteful.
This is undoubtedly one of the most privileged Portuguese Pousadas, as it is entirely located within a small manor house, built in the 18th century by King D.Dinis. From here you can enjoy the most superb view over the Minho river and valley.
