The hotel building dates back to a time before the construction of the Mezquita began. In fact, the so-called Alarifes, the builders of the Mezquita, used to reside in what is today the hotel. In medieval times, this establishment was one of the most significant throughout the Iberian peninsula. Due to its fantastic location right by Via Augusta, an ancient Roman military and trade route, the hotel was popular with colonists and merchants, as the studies of archaeologist Laura Aparicio indicate. It is also worth mentioning that famous Christopher Columbus, during his stay in Cordoba, lived in what is today room number 204. The hotel, as you find it today, opened in March 2007 after extensive restoration. It provides not only the charm of an ancient establishment, but also all modern amenities to make your stay pleasant and even unforgettable. When it comes to events and planning of sightseeing trips, the hotel staff are on hand to assist. This charming historical city hotel comprises a total of 21 rooms, 20 double rooms and 1 single room, and the facilities on offer to guests at this air-conditioned establishment include a lobby area with a 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a cafe, a breakfast room and a laundry service (for an additional fee).
