This parador is found in a city which is entirely worth visiting for its historic nature. Also nearby places such as Comillas are also worth a visit. There are 28 rooms in total, three of them are suites. They are medium in size, diaphanous and friendly.The rooms have wooden floors and traditional decoration for the furniture and the ornamental details. The bedrooms are comfortable and in harmony with the Parador's overall atmosphere. The dining room has a nice beamed ceiling and soft painted walls with large windows on one of its sides. Traditional lamps hang from the ceiling and traditional furniture completes its decoration. In the restaurant highland and Liebana stews are served as well as grilled baby beef sirloin and the typical dessert "quesada pasiega" (cheese pastry). The main entrance, medium in size, preceeds bright and welcoming spaces always decorated with traditional furniture and details.
The parador is found inthe Santillana del Mar plaza, a town declared a National Monument, whose origins date back to the 8th century.
