The house, built in 1842 by John Gresham, is a fine specimen of Greek revival architecture. Mr. Gresham, a former mayor of Macon, attorney, judge and cotton merchant lived in the home until 1900 when it was purchased by the B. F. Adams family. The crystal chandeliers that sparkle above the antique furnishings and oriental carpets envelop you as you enter this distinctive Greek Revival Antebellum Home known as the 1842 Inn. Each uniquely decorated room offers a private bath, independently controlled heat and air, Wi-Fi and telephones equipped with voice mail.
