Built in 1939 with stones hewn from Massanutten Mountain and native chestnut wood paneling, Big Meadows Lodge is located one mile from the large, grassy meadow at mile 51 of Skyline Drive. The lodge has an easy, natural feeling and is officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Lodging accommodations range from small, rustic cabins and main lodge rooms to comfortable traditional and preferred rooms. Pet-friendly rooms are also available. While there are no in-room phones, free Wi-Fi is available in the main lodge building.
Guests enjoy the Spottswood Dining Room, New Market Taproom, and Craft Shop in Big Meadows main lodge. Free, family-friendly entertainment is presented nightly in the taproom.
