The Pousada was once give the grade of chateau but now it has changed to that of a more average Pousada. The service by the staff however is very good. Rooms are spacious with some silk embroidery panels. A number of rooms also have verandas with very commanding views. Serves local dishes, such as carneiro a moda de forno de algodres (lamb in red wine), bacalhau a beira alta (salted cod fish), bifes de presunto a moda da beira (ham), lingua de vitela a beira (casseroled veal). The restaurant also offers good flambe dishes. This Pousada also has a very accomplished pastry chef. The wines form nearby pinhel are very good and should be sampled. Medium sized lobby.
