Palmela boasts excellent wines and superb cuisine, and it is also the perfect starting place to discover the Costa Azul and the magnificent Arrabida Natural Park. These are spacious decorated with delightful furniture, terracota tiled floors covered with marvellous carpets and wood beamed ceilings from which iron lamps hang giving a medieval atmosphere. It seats 140 people and food is good.It has won the title for the national cookery contest thanks to its gaspacho, arroz de frutas do mar (shellfish and rice) and vitela assadano forno(roast beef with rosemary). The menu is extensive and there are many good wines produced in the region. It is not very spacious but cosy and welcoming.
