The seat of parliament in 1176, this Reinassance style castle was built by Fernando II de Leon and forms part of the former walled enclousure of the town. The interior contains classical decorative elements such rugs, forged lamps, coffered ceilings, wood and castillians briks. The dreamy bedrooms are comfortable, and the restaurant offers the regions's gastronomic array. The two wings which house the bedrooms and dinning-room have been built in the same medieval style. Wrought-iron lamps, striking tapestries and castilian wood and brickwork create an austere and regal ambience inside. Bacalao "a la tio" (cod), rebojo zamorano (sweet cake), sopa de boda and dos y pingada are among the robust dishes which may be sampled at this parador, featuring all of the taste and tradition of this famous region. Large hall with coffered ceilings and medieval style.
