The Parador de Corias is located in the lovely Asturias town of Cangas del Narcea, housed in a spectacular monastery dating to the early 11th Century that has been declared a National Historical-Artistic Monument. The appearance of the rooms is quite normal but their main attractive point is their natural brightness, the situation of the desk and the view over the park. The furniture is varied, ranging from Castilian style to cane chairs and tables. The best thing is the views overlooking the lake of Isabel la Catolica Park with swans. Tradition has it that King Alfonso I The Catholic constructed this building on 21 February 746, and the excavations carried out at the start of the refurbishing work to turn it into a hotel confirm this theory. The current monastery was founded on this site and was run by the Order of San Benito until the Desamortizacion of 1835 (Large-scale selling of State and Church assets).
