Our Hotel is part of the Kings Head Inn, formerly the County Hotel. This three storey building was built in 1874 for the Richardson brothers, wine and spirit importers, shippers and wholesalers. It was then Britain's oldest wine and spirit business. Originally known as City Chambers, the building was occupied by wine merchants until the late 20th Century. The hotel is situated in the City centre and is the perfect base for exploring the City and surrounding areas. Ideal for corporate guests, with easy access to the City centre, car parking and ring roads. The King's Head Inn is the closet travel accommodation to Salisbury Playhouse and the City Hall, both providing excellent entertainment all year round. Salisbury is a lively, vibrant city, dominated by a Cathedral of exceptional beauty, topped by England's tallest spire standing an impressive 123m/404ft. This Gothic Masterpiece (housing one of the four remaining copies of the nation's most historic documents - the Magna Carta) stands in the Close. The Close also houses the Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum, The Wardrobe Military Museum, Mompesson House and The Medieval Hall. Twice Weekly markets are still held in the Market Square. Colourful, bustling, friendly and full of exciting aromas from freshly ground coffee and fresh bread to spit roast chicken, doughnuts and newly cut flowers. We do have an area on-site for guests to drop off luggage. We are a Wetherspoon Lloyds No 1 pub and the bar plays music until 1am Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
