The hotel is located in the Haast Township, a spectacular rainforest setting in a quiet location. Haast is the gateway to the fiords, the Southern Lakes and the scenic West Coast. There are numerous scenic walkways through sand dune forests, riverbanks and native bush. It offers 16 ground floor en suite units. All units have insect screened windows, fridge, phone, TV, queen size beds, electric blankets, heating, Cot and highchair available on request. There is a car park outside each unit. Guests can find restaurant, supermarket and tavern within 50 meters. Fishing trips, scenic helicopter rides and river jet boat safari trips can be arranged.
The Lodge is a paradise for nature lovers and for those wanting a relaxing retreat away from the pressures of the modern world.On arrival we give you a copy of our current activities programme, maps and information. Forget your car for a couple of days and settle in and explore. Radiating from the Lodge is a network of rainforest and Tasman seacoast walks. In front of the Lodge there is a fleet of canoes for you to explore the Moeraki river and you can paddle the short distance up the river to the Lake. Lake Moeraki Wilderness Lodge has 24 Rainforest Rooms and 4 more luxurious Riverview Rooms. Rainforest Rooms have forest outlooks and each has its own bathroom and tea and coffee making facilites, fresh fruit and flowers. Suitable for a couple or 2 adults and 1 child under 12 sharing. Rooms with an interconnecting door are avaiable for families. Riverview Rooms are suitable for a couple or 2 adults only. They are not available for children. Rooms have their own deck with beautiful views down the Moeraki River Rapids. More luxurious with a spa bath and separate shower.
