Reopened in summer 2013, Hotel Islazul Rex has been renovated to a high standard & would comfortably now be considered a boutique hotel, providing greater than expected luxury for downtown 3-star accommodation.
The attractive rooftop terrace bar at Rex Hotel is a perfect place to relax & sip cocktails or enjoy light snacks, with great views of the city by day or night and the iconic Plaza de Marte only yards away. The restaurant is small but very well appointed, serving good quality food at a reasonable price. The high standards of the hotel are also reflected in its polite & helpful staff.
There are 24 standard rooms at Hotel Islazul Rex which are all ensuite and have satellite TV, safe, air conditioning and wifi internet. As might be expected in a boutique-style hotel, the rooms are attractively decorated with modern double beds. Though on the small side, the rooms are very clean & comfortable.
The downtown location means that rooms overlooking the street can be rather noisy though this is offset by views of the vibrant city.
