The hotel was built at the end of the 18th Century and has also been used as a post office, before its current incarnation as a hotel. For many years the hotel lodged travellers coming to Turin on business, to carry out diplomatic missions, to study, or to participate in artistic and cultural events tied to Turin s role as the capital of Regno di Sardegna.
