This historical building is a great example of the colonial Dutch architecture so well preserved over the last century. This is a great place to stay for anyone wanting to see the areas famous vineyards and enjoy the small but lively town centre. These are very comfortable 3* rooms which are best described as cosy with four poster beds, antique furniture, carpeted floors and pleasant soft furnishings on the bed and room chairs. Each room is en-suite with air-conditioning, bar fridge, television, clock radio, hair dryer, room safe and telephone. There is also a complimentary bottle of water and tea / coffee making facilities. The hotel has a very popular restaurant which has good fresh shell fish as well as a wide choice of game meats. The wine list is extensive and supports the local wine makers. A small welcoming lobby with white walls and wood reception desk and furniture. There is a small seating area for guests and an information desk.
This national monument building is located in the very centre of Stellenbosch town and is therefore close to the town's museums, shops, restaurants and bars.
